Please contact the Creative Commons <http://creativecommons.org/> for
help; they were set up by very smart people precisely to deal with this
kind of situation and you might find that one of their 13 or 14 licenses
is just what you need. CTO Mike Linksvayer, ####@####.####
would probably be delighted to talk to you. If you like, I can set up
the first contact.
These guys have attorneys who have seen lots of cases in the open
information area, and who can give good advice. So can the FSF, in my
opinion. I have balked at using the FDL myself, partly because it has to
be inserted in the work, but I was told that inserting it physically
protects the work in some countries that wouldn't recognize a link as
legal. The FSF is not putting barriers in the way for a bad reason. But
I think Creative Commons has simpler licenses that should do the trick.
