get into cvsview.tldp.org and use the introduction to linux guide as a guide 
template. the resources section has other templates.

use the xmlto tool to work with the howto.

present an abstract and table of contents here if possible. take a look at the 
other docs to make sure you are not replicating stuff. release often for 
reviews
