wow this seems like a deja vu. :) hehe Little more than a year back we
had a dicussion about using a Wiki, and a rating system. And nothing came
out of that.
But seriously we need to do something about the Rating system. Why cant we
have a simple system, rather than waiting for elaborate system, which will
not only solve the rating system issue, but also the world hunger ;)
A simple proposal:
Most HOWTOS are read in the HTML format. Why dont we just a html drop down
box to each HTML page for the HOWTO, with ratings of 1-5. If a reader
chooses to rate an HOWTO, he/she can select a number click the "submit"
button and send it to the main server.
on the server a PHP script (pun intended) takes the rating and the REFERER
URL.
***The REFERER URL can be used to parse out the name of the HOWTO.***
I know like any other rating system, this may be abused, but atleast it
better than having nothing.
