You're right, Rahul. It is certainly not required. I suggest it (and would
have loved to have it myself) as a convenience, since by installing that
one tiny package via up2date (or apt-rpm, or yum, or whatever...) I get the
ldp.dsl and all the other packages I need _automatically_ via dependency
resolution. One command, 30 seconds of watching the screen, instead of
several hours hunting down documentation and help which I was mostly too
ignorant to understand.
