Hi.
I would like to propose a "Scientific computing with
free software on GNU-Linux HOWTO". I have placed the
zeroth version at http://SciLinux.sourceforge.net.
The html code at the link above was generated from
the docbook source.
The abstract goes like this, "This document aims to
show how a PC running GNU/Linux can be used for
scientific computing. It lists the various available
free software and also links on the world wide web to
tutorials on getting started with the tools".
A question:
If this proposal is accepted, can the HOWTO be hosted
at the LDP home page? This is because SciLinux has
a name conflict with someone who owns the name and
therefore I plan to ask the sourceforge people to
remove the site where it is presently hosted.
