Holy cow there are a lot of elements in DocBook. Is there justification
for each of these somewhere? I get the impression by looking through
some of them that somebody said, "Gee, that's a good idea, let's throw
<systemitem class="kitchen sink"> in there" without providing
justification of what is the benefit that outweighs the complexity cost
(e.g., by providing use cases).

To throw out a second idea this evening, is there any interest in the
LDP for listing a subset of the DocBook elements, i.e., "here are the
ones we care about"? It may be easier to justify such a list given our
specific application of Linux documentation than it is for DocBook to
justify them in the abstract.

David

BTW, I'm not looking for boomerang ARs, because I barely have enough
time to finish my HOWTO and move on. I do want to raise issues as I
find them, though.
