I'll throw in my 2 cents that this is a very cool idea... and we ought
to be able to find a sponsor who would be willing to fund this!
I mean... there are enough publishers and such out there who might
be very interested in putting there name on a CD we put out.
As to the "regular" vs. "business-card" size issue... the business
card CDs have just so much more of a *cool* factor - which is
precisely why people will pick them up. (And exactly the kind of thing
you want in a marketing giveaway.)
When I was at Linuxcare, we gave away tons of "rescue CDs" on
the "Bootable Business-Cards (BBCs)". They were a *huge* hit at
tradeshows. There was no reason they needed to be that small... I
mean, the ISO image is on Linuxcare's web site... you could burn
a regular CD (and people do). But the size was definitely a cool
thing.
And there is a certain reality that I can put a Linuxcare BBC into
smaller compartments in my laptop bag (like where the floppies used
to go) than I could a regular CD.
It would be VERY cool to accompany that CD with a business card
CD containing all the HOWTOs... kind of a complementary CD that
should go in every Linux sysadmin's toolkit.
My 2 cents,
Dan
