Hi Mark,

This would be a very useful document indeed. I myself was thinking about
writing one since sometime (however I did not post it to the discuss
list) and started doing it.

I have a "skeleton-draft" version of this document with one section done
in DocBook/SGML.

Source:
  http://www.geocities.com/yganag/GNU-Build-System-HOWTO-sgml.txt
HTML rendered on RH7.2:
  http://www.geocities.com/yganag/GNU-Build-System-HOWTO.html

At the moment only one section of the document is complete.

I see that you would like to make it a mini-HOWTO. If you look at the
skeleton document that I had attached, it would be more than that. I was
calling this document a GNU-Build-System-HOWTO. Considering the fact
that the attached document is really-very-skeleton, please note that I
am open to *any* changes to this (obviously).

I was wondering if we could work on this one together? Considering all
the problems with content + maintanance that we have with all the LDP
documents these days, this might be good idea after all. Let me know
what you think about this.

Not throwing out the baby with the bath-water doesn't mean that
you cannot improve the system. I'm only arguing against stupid
people who think they need a revolution to improve - most real
improvements are evolutionary. - Linus Torvalds
