I was - long time ago - a linuxdoc user and like LyX do write technical
documents of limited complexity. I never had time to learn LaTeX nor
Docbook (the books are on my table, but I'm too busy)

however I try to help the LDP, not only writing a very marginal HOWTO
(partition rescue), but also trying to find a suitable docbook
generator. vi and emacs are not at all advisables in a general
environment and beeing french I have problems with accented characters.

OpenOffice will probably be a good contender, but still in e very
preliminary phase (one can export docbook, but only with great difficulty)

LyX is another, but lacks _only_ the revhistory tag. my last HOWTO
version had to be edited by hand and this gives a revhistory of no
interset (empty).

if ever you can manage to have a simple LyX->docbook way, it will be a
great news :-)

it is not reasonable to ask for as many time to learn the format than to
write the content.

sincerely your
jdd
