Find the file texmf.cnf in your system. It is in the directory shown by the TEXMFCNF
environment variable (most probably /etc/texmf/). Search for "strings". You will see
a line like
max_strings = 43988
or
max_strings = 44000
Enter a larger max_strings and retry.
