between 1 and 2:
A) Which is most likely to work on all linux boxen? (this is assuming I
incorporate configuration info for non-Debian distros as well)
B) Which is most likely to keep working as packages are upgraded?
and to a lesser degree:
C) Which is easiest to configure?
D) Which is easiest to audit/monitor/debug etc.?
My personal bias is to go with #1, but I can't back up my preference
with well supported answers to the above questions. What I do know is
that I'm not going to write about how to do it two different ways, so I
hope we can come to some kind of decision.
