Hello,

This is a followup message to my 2003-02-04 message to this list
asking about callouts.

: Does anybody have any suggestions?
: Have I missed an FAQ somewhere?

The answer, Martin, is yes!

  http://www.sagehill.net/xml/docbookxsl/SolveProblems.html#Callouts

In short, you can do arearef callouts (as I was attempting) but you
need to use Xalan or Saxon to process the DocBook-XML. I was using
xsltproc.

Work-around. Use <co/> instead of <arearef/>.

I really like this sagehill.net DocBook XSL reference work. Makes
writing my documentation easier.

Happy monkeys and green fish to all,

-Martin

 : I'm using the ldp-html-chunk.xsl and ldp-html.xsl stylesheets with
: xsltproc, and have recently tried to use <programlistingco> and
: <callout> tags. The callout "footnote" is numbered properly, but
: the callout never appears in my programlisting itself.
 :
: Here's an example of what I'd like to see (pardon the long URL):
 :
 : http://www.tldp.org/LDP/LDP-Author-Guide/making-catalogues.html#example-catalogue
 :
: Here's an example of my output:
 :
 : http://linux-ip.net/html/ether-arp.html#ex-ether-arp-cache-timeout
 :
: And appended below my sig is the source XML defining the
 : entire <programlistingco>.
 :
: Software on host in question:
 :
: - LDP XSL stylesheets (fetched yesterday)
 : - docbook-xsl-1.60.1
 : - xsltproc-1.0.24
