Cool project - great to see a HOWTO being written.
I suggest using XXE http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/ . It is a free but not
open source, java based, WYSIWYG editor for docbook (and other XML formats).
I suggest you use Simple docbook rather than the full docbook tags. Simple
Docbook should provide you with all the tags you need without complicating
things.
