Abhinav, : I am a student on development of routing protocol for ad hoc networks. : For implementation, I am planning to use laptops running Linux 7.3 with : wireless capability (IEEE 802.11b). I think you are in the wrong forum. This mailing list covers TLDP related discussion questions. You probably want to join the linux-net mailing list [1] and consult the linux-net archives [2]. Additionally, you may find the LARTC site handy [3], but more for administrative use of linux. The wireless archives [4] should prove handy in case you haven't run across them. : Could someone please give me pointers to modifying the kernal for : the implementation of the routing protocol? Chances are you want some example code to see others modifying the manner in which the kernel makes routing decisions. You may find Patrick McHardy's equalize patch [5] helpful, and possibly also much work by Julian Anastasov [6].
