I've seen Altova for Linux, though I couldn't get it to cooperate.
Another one I tried out was Microsoft XML Notepad (I don't have a link,
you'd need to Google that), but I don't think it knows what to do with a
dtd, I'm not positive. I do know it will edit XML in that tree-like way
that some people like (I'll always be an Emacs/PSGML fan myself, much to
the chagrin of many people!).
Just another idea - maybe I'm wrong about the DTD thing, give it a try!
