IMHO nobody will forbid you to put the text of that page in a section
like "A note from the Author" or even "Aknowledgements". In a way, you
aknowledge the support of all those sites/people and give a link - why
not? You are the author, you have the right to mention even the
slightest contribution to you document from third parties, be it
material or moral. And *you* define what a contribution is.
But think a little further (oh... the dark side of mine now comes to its
glory :-D ): Doing so you will provide all those links a 100-1000fold
coverage than *they* have been generous enough to give to *you*. They
will not put your link in any HowTo, you will. Why give them this
weight? I think you should leave that page where it is and only put a
remark in the HowTo pointing to *your* site with the current version.
Don't overdo it with "washing their backs" ;-)
