I'd like to help rewrite the C++ HOWTO. I've done quite a lot of C++, and I
like to write. I've been programming in one way or another for about 22 years.
Here are some C++ articles I have written:
Pointers, References and Values
http://www.goingware.com/tips/parameters/
Musings on Good C++ Style
http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/5/9/205040/3918
(Musings on Good C++ Style is a condensed version of Pointers, References and
Values, which is a pretty long document)
Pointers to C++ Member Functions
http://linuxquality.sunsite.dk/articles/memberpointers/
The Member Functions article is under the GFDL. I have a proprietary copyright
on the others, but I have been contemplating putting them under the GFDL for a
while.
The main reason I keep Pointers, References and Values proprietary is that by
not allowing any copies to exist other than on my own website, it draws a lot
of visitors to my site who come to read it there, which helps advertise my
consulting business. But lately I've been thinking that having copies spread
far and wide with my name on them might do more good to my consulting business
because many people would read it who might never stumble across my site.
I'd be interested to hear arguments as to why I should copyleft more of my writing.
Certainly I'd also like for my articles to be doing good for the community.
All the articles on http://linuxquality.sunsite.dk/ are GFDL.
Pointers, References and Values brings between 500 and 1000 visitors a month to
my website, which is a considerable amount of traffic for me.
