Hi Dan and everyone on the LDP :),
I saw you presentation, it is pretty good :)

Here is my problem:

I have to present 3 options for creating/maintaining internal IT FAQs (we
have lots of them):

1) Use DocBook 4.1.2 XML with cocoon on the backend server; or
2) Use plain HTML (dreamweaver) with our existing HTML server; or
3) Use RDBMS to store all the QandA, and then query using XForms or PHP or
jsp

Now I wanna make a case for using XML vs the other 2 option. Any
suggestions, on why XML would be a better option in the long run as
compared to other 2 options?

Any good pointers/hints about the pros and cons I should include in the
presentation? I am looking of all kinds of suggestions. I am thinking I
will have a hard time making a case againt using RDBMs. All help will be
appreciated.

Thanks

Saqib Ali

Martin,

Glad you caught that... :-) Yes, my paper had nothing in it specific
to any distro, and it was actually a 3-hour tutorial given at OLS here
in Ottawa two months ago.

BTW, any comments on the tutorial are definitely welcome. Since the
interest
was high, I'll probably aim to give the tutorial at some other conferences.

Tutorial is at:

Since this is not LDP-related, please don't clutter up the LDP list and
just
send any comments directly to me, please. ####@####.#### or
####@####.####

Thanks,
Dan
