That would be the understatement of the year.

Suggestion: create a snapshot of the LDP works, make an
RPM of it and announce it on news:comp.os.linux.announce
with a diplomatic notice. While RedHat's methods strike
me as somewhat strange I feel it is important not to
escalate this into a war.

Several in this thread pointed out that users can get
the latest snapshot at any time. While that is true of
many users it is not true of all, access to Internet
is in many places expensive if at all possible and
pulling down 2-300 MB on a slow, unreliable link is
frustrating.
