I agree and that's why I don't think people in the LDP should have the
title "editor". But there are some docs that are either off-topic or
are so bad that I think we must reject them. I think you'll agree.

I've been doing this too for quite a while. One can use google to find
authors who have written on Linux and put it on their personal websites.
Then invite them to submit it to LDP (if it is of satisfactory quality).
But our Author Guide is so large and complex that it's apt to scare them
away so I'm planning to revise my Howtos-with-LinuxDoc-mini-HOWTO to
include information on how to write for the LDP. Then we could also
have an invitation form letter and mention both the Author Guide and my
mini. I want to add to the mini so it will still be small, but include
enough so that a new author can write a doc for us after studying it
without referring to the Guide.
