Has anyone with some title or other around here bothered to officially
contact Red Hhat and asked 1) what were the problems, and 2) what they
thought we might do to fix them, and 3) would they forward kindly the
complaints of correctness and format to us so we can at least know
what they are?

Something that might help both the distributors and the LDP is for the
distrubutors to put someone in their documentation department in
charge of liason with the LDP, and part of their duties is to bring
problems like this to LDP's attention.

I am not very senior around here (I released a HOWTO in January) but
if the Powers That Be (PTB) would like, I'll take on the second
proposal. I'll ask the LDP PTBs to appoint me liason with the
distributors so they have a single contact point.
