discuss: DOCBOOK to XML????

Is it better to continue using DocBook, or should I switch my document
over to XML?
I ask because I am going to be adding alot of new materail and dont want
to go back and convert it again.
I already converted it from linuxDoc to DocBook, which was a bit of a
pain,
so I dont want to convert it to XML later, I would rather get it over with
now, if XML is even better than DocBook.
ps, I maintain the LDP, Medicine-HOWTO
