He'll also need to close some empty tags. As an example, <xref
idref=something> becomes <xref idref="something" />. Note that the
quotes and the slash are required. You can also have <xref
idref="something></xref> (with nothing between both tags!).
There's a tool names 'nsgmlnorm' (or 'onsgmlnorm' if you're using
OpenJade) that helps a little. You'll have no problems converting
documents if you followed some tips from the Author Guide / DocBook
HOWTO.
