Err, if I might say so, this isn't very good. Now that we actually have
documents in CVS, with revision histories, it's often a lot more
convenient to use CVS from the command line. It's almost always nicer
to use CVS to grab whole files/documents than the website.
IMHO, the security risks associated with using pserver for read/write
access are potentially much greater than those caused by having
anonymous cvs read access.
All that said, I have no idea how much use the anonymous cvs server was
getting. If it's use wasn't enough to warrant the maintenance that it
required (hmm, that seems hard, since one of my anoncvs boxes has been
up for 2+ years without anybody touching anything, but...), then
shutting it down is a different issue.
