Just thought I'd add my $.02. When I was trying to choose a wiki for my
own use and for use on Wikilearn, I "reviewed" several wikis.
Here are the reviews of moin from that time (about a year ago):

review)

At that time, I chose TWiki for my purposes. As a Linux, Perl, HTTP,
etc. newbie, TWiki has been a little more challenging than I hoped, but
I haven't personally seen anything I'd choose instead. (I haven't
really been looking either.)
TWiki has an active pool of developers, see:

Having said that, I think MoinMoin is a good product also, and Juergen
Hermann, the developer, helped me considerably as I was doing the
reviews, so I don't think you can go wrong.
Here is my original review of TWiki:

I have created templates for my private TWiki which are very simplified
compared to those on the TWiki site. When I move Wikilearn to a
permanent home, I will use those simplified templates. (Wikilearn is
currently a "guest" on the twiki.org site:

It's rather sparse -- I have some more material developed, but I'd like
to move Wikilearn to a "permanent" location before uploading it (and
dividing it into on the order of 40 separate webs based on subject).
