Further to my posting on the feedback list, and David's reply, it looks
like I'm taking on the Palm OS Desktop HOWTO. I've applied for cvs access,
and am looking at the sgml source now.

I'm trying to get the sgml tools set up on my PC, and would appreciate a
little advice, specifically:

- Has anyone used the Mandrake 8.1 rpms of the various jade/docbook etc..
tools? Or would I be better off starting from scratch using the author
guide instructions?

- Will the sgml source compile cleanly as it stands? It's quite an old
document, and seems to use docbook v3. I'd be grateful if a docbook expert
could give it a glance over and see if it's usable with the current tools.

Also, are there any examples of documents which have changed maintainers
that I can use for an example of maintaining proper credit? Should I cite
the original author as co-author or would an acknowledgement ("based on the
work of...") suffice? Don't want to break any etiquette rules ;-)

Thanks in advance,

Sean Buckley.
