There is already an EXCELENT HOWTO on bind. It's called the DNS howto.
Nicolai Langfeldt wrote, and maintains it, and does quite a fine job.
It covers exactly how to set up bind for being a small-time DNS admin.

Covering any less material would be irresponsible (IMO), and I suspect
would lead to many completely broken DNS servers out there. Please,
contribute to this HOWTO, it's here, maintained, and already well
written!
