You should be using the " entity instead of real quotes.

Yeah, I was on that list for a bit last year, and things move fast.
Thanks very much for your feedback. I've written to the Lyx team
myself, asking for information on DocBook future and offering to help
them beta test. I'm sure we can find authors willing to give it a
shot, and it's looking more and more like a viable option.
