Welcome Devvin!
I'm in much the same boat: I have very little technical knowledge but
I'm keen to learn. However, you're farther ahead because you have
specialised training in technical writing whereas I pick up what I can
as I go along.
Actually, having little technical knowledge helps when it comes to
reviewing documents because you can tell whether a writer is teaching
a topic clearly better than someone who already knows the subject.
Obviously, if you can't follow what a writer is saying, there's a good
chance that visitors needing to learn something in a hurry won't be
able to either! Therefore, you're the best kind of reviewer since you
can tell the writer whether s/he is doing their first job: teaching
you!
Fortunately, you arrived just in time to give
http://wiki.tldp.org/Avr-Microcontrollers-in-Linux-Howto a readthrough
before it goes to version 1.0. Jean-Daniel's very good and patient
about answering procedural changes. Don't worry - I've already asked
him all of the noob questions. Otherwise, dive in and fix what
obviously needs fixing (you know how to edit a wiki, right?) and post
comments to the mailing list or to the author about larger issues,
such as style, structure, and content.
I hope that helps. Happy hacking!
