I know a situation like that.
Our group is trying to write the Romanian-HOWTO. It is most likely that
i will be the "maintainer". But i will actually only write 10% of the
whole document, the rest of 90% being writen by approx 9 other people
(or so it looks like at this moment).
So, "maintainer" cannot be "the author" in our case, just "one author
among others". For our document, the most appropriate structure will be:
- one maintainer
- many people writing actual text, including the "maintainer"
Of course, the maintainer will also take care of the document for the
foreseeable future.
It should be provided a way to accomodate situations where the
maintainer is just the contact person among a group of authors.
