we don't need "a machine", we need a high bandwith hosting for the
tldp wiki
but also some other variants are

have nothing common with tldp, as long as I read.
tldp need an *author identifyed* system. even if some pages a free
access, a HOWTO author must be able to close his page at will (for
example to fix a release number before burning a cd)

there are a lot of public wikis all around and I never heard about
swik before, so that I doubt it to be as known as they pretend to be.
It looks more like a blog
wel, this is my point, and the direction I'm ready to work on. I
already use several public wikis and don't need an other
for the new machine: why don't we begin to work with the present hardware?
the wiki for authors dashboard (if they will) and the static site for
the static doc seems ok.
just needs some work, but the new hardware wont make any good for that.
