I really love LILO:  It's simple and easy to understand, doesn't suffer
from feature bloat -- unlike some alternatives we could mention -- works
with arbitrary choice of filesystem, and does exactly what you tell it.

I regret that my laptop doesn't use it, but only because it's a PowerPC.
