Windows tools for editing SGML
From: "Emily" ####@####.#### Date: 13 Nov 2003 04:01:58 -0000 Message-Id: <000e01c3a99a$e21ee880$0300a8c0@CARROTHEAD> Hi! I'm Emily and a new doc reviewer for LDP. Do any of you know of a good way to edit XML and SGML files in Windows? If not, do you have a great link to a doc for a Linux novis about how to dual boot (also, which kind of Linux). Thanks so much! I'd recommend trying the XML Morphon editor (it's free now): http://www.morphon.com/xmleditor/index.shtml -- Emma Jane Hogbin [[ 416 417 2868 ][ www.xtrinsic.com ]] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

However some people might disagree with that, so I compiled a list of all the available XML editors. The list is available at the following URL. http://www.xml-dev.com:8080/cocoon/mount/docbook/openjade.html#N40062C Conglomerate is a very nice opensource XML editor, give it a try. OpenOffce.org 1.1 will import and export XML docbook. I haven't tried it yet, though. To answer Emily's query on editors, try Emacs for windows with PSGML at: http://www.charlescurley.com/emacs.html. See also "SGML for NT: A brief tutorial how to set up a free SGML/XML editing and publishing system for Windows". http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/hoenicka_markus/ntsgml.html I had problems with that last one last fall, but Marcus may have fixed it by now. -- Charles Curley /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign Looking for fine software \ / Respect for open standards and/or writing?
