Hi,

Can anyone point me to an example of a bibliography done in DocBook
XML? I put together what I thought was a correct format. It
validates, but the output is all run together. So if anyone has a
sample I could use as a template, I would really appreciate it.

Dave

[ This is a "me too" message. ]

Dave,

Well....I have often wondered about that, too. I don't really have
an answer for you, although I have made a bibliography. Here's my
source (select bibliography.xml):

  http://cvsview.tldp.org/index.cgi/LDP/guide/docbook/linux-ip/

And here's the output:

  http://linux-ip.net/html/biblio.html

Which, I can't say is terribly attractive. Is this what you are
seeing?

: It validates, but the output is all run together. So if anyone

 : it.

The only places I have found which discuss it are Bob Stayton's
sagehill.net documentation and the docbook.org site. Each points
out the difference between cooked and raw bibliographic entries (as
XML), but doesn't really explain much about the processing of these
for the generation of a publication-worthy bibliography.

  http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/FeaturesPart.html
  http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/bibliography.html

I had given up on the bibliography last time I looked at it,
although it would interest me if you find a good example source.

I read your messages, and went to www.tldp.org. In the search bar, I
typed in bibliography, and the second document in the list looks like
it's done in Docbook. Even if it's SGML the tagging is likely going to
be the same as for XML. Since CVS carries all the source, you can go in
and take a look from there if you like.

Hopefully that gives you a few leads on examples of working
bibliographies!

Tabatha,

Eeeps--I wonder why I didn't find these! Thank you....

I found that the following were good examples of the output I
desired, although you are correct--these are SGML documents.

  http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Reading-List-HOWTO/b60.html
  http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Software-Proj-Mgmt-HOWTO/b811.html

: Hopefully that gives you a few leads on examples of working

The markup is exactly what I expected, so maybe I'm just sensitive
to the output. Hmph. I guess another reason for me to get good at
CSS. This is definitely not the sort of thing I'd like to do in
XSLT.

Thank you for the obvious tip....when in doubt....check the
repository! (/me feels silly).

Thanks, both of you. I found some good examples in the links you provided.
